Following the purchase of Marvel by Disney, there were questions as to whether there would be any changes to Marvel’s films, which had been immensely successful to that point. If anything, it appears that Marvel’s films have become even bigger after the company’s acquisition by Disney. Another question that arose was if we would see a Marvel animated film from Disney’s storied animation studio. The answer was a resounding “Yes we will!” – Big Hero 6 is on the way and you can see the teaser trailer for it after the break!
Big Hero 6 is based upon a Marvel series, but don’t expect to see major super heroes like Captain America or Iron Man. The story revolves around Hiro Hamada who resides in a fictional city named San Fransokyo (yes, a combination of S.F., California and Tokyo). The official description of the animated film is below:
With all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios,“Big Hero 6” is an action-packed comedy-adventure about robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who’s catapulted into the midst of a dangerous plot and must transform his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—and a diverse group of friends into a band of high-tech heroes.

It is interesting to see that there is no Marvel logo at the front of the teaser trailer. If someone were to view it without having any knowledge of the story’s origins, they would not link be able to link it to Marvel. Given that it is a film from Walt Disney Animation Studios, who last brought us
Frozen, there are understandably high expectations for the film. It will be exciting to see where the studio takes the film!
