Walt Disney Animation Studios has had great success with its shorts in recent years. Paperman won great critical acclaim in 2012 and went on to capture an Academy Award, the first short released by the studio to win an Oscar since the 1970s. Then, last year, Get A Horse! stunned audiences with its creative use of 2D and 3D. Now, the talent behind Paperman is back at it with a new short heading to theaters this year. It is called Feast and you can get a first look at it and its logo after the break!
Today, Disney announced Feast and shared that it would be making its debut at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, following in the footsteps of Paperman and Get A Horse!, which both earned raves when they premiered. Feast is set to premiere on June 10th there before its arrival in theaters around the world with Disney’s first animated Marvel film, Big Hero 6, in November. The director of the short is none other than Patrick Osborne, the head of animation of Paperman, which featured an incredible visual style that was pioneered just for it.
The story of one man’s love life is seen through the eyes of his best friend and dog, Winston, and revealed bite by bite through the meals they share. The short will open in theaters in front of WDAS’ new action-packed, big-screen adventure “Big Hero 6” on Nov. 7, 2014.
Disney also unveiled a first look at the love story, seen above. It seems that Feast may use a similar art style to Paperman, which means that we will be in for a visual treat.
Feast‘s worldwide premiere will be at the Annecy Festival on June 10th! Stay tuned for more as we approach its debut.
