A few weeks prior to the Oscars, a special Frozen live concert was hosted for one-night-only in a small club for members of the industry and the media. It was the first (and last) time that the cast, including Idina Menzel (Elsa), Kristen Bell (Anna), Santino Fontana (Hans), and Josh Gad (Olaf), sang the songs live together, making the event one you would have given a kidney to get into. We have only seen brief moments from the night, but now we have Bell and Fontana’s performance of “Love Is An Open Door,” which you can view after the break!
The clip that Disney previously released last month contained bits and pieces of the songs that were sang that night, which, of course included “Let It Go” (watch it here). However, fans were left wanting more, as what was available to see was incredible – the songs were performed in an intimate setting, but the cast clearly have singing talent so it was a chance to hear them from a different perspective. Disney has now released another clip, and this one features much more of “Love Is An Open Door” – it is a must-see.
I have been a big fan of Bell since her Veronica Mars days, so any time I have the opportunity to see her share her gifted abilities, I am ecstatic – it helps that she knows how to sing, too. Fontana is a seasoned theater actor, so he is the real deal when it comes to singing – his booming voice is a perfect match with Bell’s. So now that we have seen a bit more from that special live concert at the Vibrato Grill Jazz Club back in February, you know what we want, Disney – release the rest!
Frozen continues to break records and capture awards. Yesterday, the film crossed $1 billion at the box office and received two Oscars! The film arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on March 18th.
