Most Disney fans hold the classic attractions and locations at the company’s theme parks close to their hearts. The Jungle Cruise is an attraction that dates back to opening day of Disneyland in 1955, which means that generations of families have enjoyed the charming ride. Similarly, the Dole Whip, a soft-serve dessert is routinely the most popular snack at the parks, dating back many years. Although classic experiences are beloved by many, they have not found their way onto a plethora of merchandise at the parks – until now, that is!
The Disney Parks Blog previewed a section of the upcoming Marketplace Co-op location at Walt Disney World’s shopping and entertainment district, Downtown Disney (soon to be rebranded Disney Springs). The store is said to serve as a “testing ground” for new products, which means we should see some bold designs that we never would have before. The specific boutique in the store that has been announced, called Disney Centerpiece, will house home products celebrating the company’s characters and attractions, the bulk of which seem to be of the classic kind.
Basically, these products are spot on with what ultimate fans of Disney nostalgia have been dreaming of for years. The colors alone would contribute to beautiful products – add in homages to classic Disney and you have pieces that will fly off the shelves. It is amazing to see the Disney Parks merchandise team design these products – the only thing we would like to ask is – the greedy fans that we are – more, please!
Announced for opening “in a few months,” you will not be completely out of luck if you live far away from Orlando. Select products will be released on the Disney Store online, good news for those who cannot make it to the store location. As we approach the opening date, we should have a clearer picture of the other products we can expect to see there as well!
