Make waaaay, for Prince Ali! The Aladdin stage musical has been in development for some time, but it is now the evening before the first Broadway performance. Although the official opening date is next month, preview performances begin tomorrow, which has fans buzzing as its first performance on the “great white way” obviously marks a major milestone for the show. After the break, meet some of the major cast members, including the musical’s Aladdin, Genie, and Jasmine!
The Disney on Broadway YouTube account has recently shared videos which introduce us to the main cast, and has them tell the story of what makes the classic film appeal to them. The Disney film has a large devoted following, in part because Alan Menken and Howard Ashman put together some incredible music, some of the best in any film from the studio. The story of the film has also captivated millions, adults and children, with a tale of a poor thief who falls in love with someone out of his league. It is a story that has been told many times before, but is made special with great relatable characters.
