Since the announcement of the game last year, fans have been clamoring for classic Disney characters to be playable in Disney Infinity. Lucky attendees of the D23 Expo last summer had the opportunity to walk away with a special limited edition Sorcerer Mickey figure, and thousands of them did. Everyone else who has been waiting patiently will now have their chance to attain a Sorcerer Mickey figure as well, as it is set for wide release this Sunday!
Both Amazon and Wal-Mart have been offering the figure early, but this weekend, you can pick up the figure from anywhere. The beautifully detailed figure is the first of the aforementioned classic Disney characters to make it into the game. Mickey Mouse, without a doubt, remains Disney’s mascot, so if there were anyone that would be the first to make it to Infinity, it should be him. Further, you could argue that the Sorcerer Mickey short in Fantasia is one of the character’s finest hours, so it is fitting to see that specific iteration.
The physical figure itself is as good as anything we have seen from the Infinity designers. It has some great detailing, including on his hat (the stars and crescent) and on his face (that facial expression is great), that take it to a higher level. Even if you never placed it on the base and played as him in the game, it would look fantastic on your shelf and in your hand. Sorcerer Mickey is a must-have for any Disney Infinity owner.
In addition the photos above, Disney Interactive has unveiled several images of the character interacting with others in the Toy Box mode. Check those out below!
The Disney Infinity Sorcerer Mickey figure goes on sale this Sunday, February 9th for the suggested price of $12.99. You can pre-order it on Amazon now!
