Maleficent, Disney’s live-action film centering around the villain from Sleeping Beauty, has been draped in mystery since its announcement. Back at Disney’s D23 Expo in August, the film was previewed with star Angelina Jolie in attendance. With the film approximately four months away, the marketing campaign is now fully underway. We have learned that singer Lana Del Rey has recorded a cover of the classic song “Once Upon A Dream” for the upcoming film’s soundtrack. Listen to the ominous cover in the brand new trailer for the film after the break!
Disney chose tonight’s Grammy Awards, one of television’s highest rated entertainment events, to debut the trailer. Not only do we hear the great cover, but we also see more from the film than we have seen before. Based upon this preview, the film does seem to be bigger than we thought, with epic battles and a bigger storyline than we saw from Sleeping Beauty. If anything, the preview demonstrates that Jolie has immersed herself fully into the role of the iconic Disney character.
The “Once Upon A Dream” cover is available for free from the Google Play store for a limited time. Check it out here!
